PD asking to the EU not to open negotiations must be the first case that a political party does that. They should be hanged upside down alive .

Damn! quite of an experience no wonder you if you dislike him. His probably the best lyricist in shqip-hop, but the 2nd part of the song is more of what I was refering to. These guys even got their ass beaten after the song was publishedMigjeni wrote:Hate BimBimma. He's a dick. A friend and I almost had a fight with him and two other guys because they were trying to force two young girls up an apartment.

Probably they were more practising before Communism, but still, we build our own Islam after 1912 as we weren't under the Ottoman influence anymore. I think keeping the nation seperated from religion is 'Islam tradicional', which means religion being seen as an individual/personal choice. There's a historical flaw in the way Albanians in Kosova view religion, and the same can be said about those in Albania, but I'm not as familiar with the way it is perceived in Albania.
In Kosovë people talk about 'islami tradicional' but rarely do they know what they're talking about. This idea that Albanian islam was somehow different from others comes only after Communism played an important part in changing the practice and view of religion.
Our generations view the veil and covering up as an anomaly because Communism kinda forbade it. So we've been raised to see women without the veil and not covered up like they are many other places where Muslims live. But look at older pictures before Communism and the women look like something from the Middle East. So which 'islam tradicional' are they talking about?
there's no history of the existence of extreme sects in Kosove, before 99. Eventhough most of these conservative/extreme sects are very old, we got the religion from the Ottomans and their Islam was different to that of Arabs.
And I think getting rid of the veil was pushed by th Albanian commies(Fadil Hoxha and co.) and parents were also arrested if they refused to send girls to school. I think we are moving backwards with the veil getting more common among Albanians.
The poverty of history is scary in Albanian lands. This goes for many other things too, not just religion. We've discussed this before with UCK, Isa Boletini and others.
It dependes:

Gold ag is a retard and Unikkatil is very simple in his lyrics. Bimbimma's old songs are probably way too deep for your ears.Albo_eagle wrote:Unikkatil is the biggest rapper to come out of Kosovë. So i have no idea what you are trying to say? He is not my favourite but some of his stuff is dope.
For any Albanian who hasn't heard it https://youtu.be/1Gz6bIkVPf0
Gold AG is the smartest rapper who really only touches on two themes, patriotism and religion.

You brought up Bimbimma and then talked about age which i find very wierd. Gold AG talking about Prekaz, Eulex, Ramush Haradinaj's trial and corruption in government is considered childish as opposed to Bimbimma shouting shqipet nalt for a whole song?
Some very flawed logic.

Don't really rate his lyrics. I like Daï who was once part of Eki-Nox miles higher than almost any Albanian especially when it comes to lyrics, meaning and knowledge.vata10 wrote:Damn! quite of an experience no wonder you if you dislike him. But that has no real historical grounds. Just look at those who signed the lidhja e Prizrenit. I believe a majority of them wished to stay under the Ottoman empire. So again; How do we define traditional? - We've been influenced by our parents who were influenced by a state where religion didn't play a part of life as it wasn't seen upon with any regard, that's why those in the media, politicians and people in general view these things as being foreign in the sense that they haven't been in Albanian lands before. They have - and for a long time.Probably they were more practising before Communism, but still, we build our own Islam after 1912 as we weren't under the Ottoman influence anymore. I think keeping the nation seperated from religion is 'Islam tradicional', which means religion being seen as an individual/personal choice.

And yeah, of course there's a huge difference between the newly imported wahabi-strand of Islam and that which was practised during Ottoman times and after. But that's not just the case in Albanian lands - that's the case in much of the Arab countries too.
What communists could do by force, we can't. I see it as a problem to constantly hype the rise of Islam in society as the more you pressure young people who are drawn to their faith, the more you'll push them away and in the hands of those who are extreme and will give them a place of belonging when society doesn't want them. We have to educate our own imams, priests etc. and not allow anyone with diplomas from Arab countries. Also religious institutions should be under strict control - but you have Naim Ternava and the likes of him who are closely linked with PDK and they've done their dirty work in each their spheres, so it'll be tough to get rid of them.
Also, what's up with you and lyrics these past few days

Since we're talking Ship-Hop , I like DUDA's "Loja Pam Pam" and K-os "Hey"
I have to agree with Albo eagle that Gold AG'a "Shqiptar" is way more powerful than BimBimma' "Nalt", It's just that he gets too religious for my liking.
