Rama is performing quite a great snow job with these interviews... meanwhile his cabinet and his government is a massive dumpster fire.

I think there is a very clear distinction between lobbying in DC and straight up stealing elections without the vote of the people. The former has its well known issues, but ultimately the voters decide at the ballot box.artan wrote:If you want to see cheap tactics by politicans look at the US political system. Just as "corrupted" as Russia's political system through the political funding that goes behind the scenes. I guess they are the pinnacle of democracy for you though.

in my opinion gerrymandering is a bit worse than lobbying in the u.s.

And you extrapolated all that from this one statement below?DigBick wrote:If you want to live in a fantasy land where politicians tug at your heart strings to distract from their grand robberies, then thats your choice, but the reality is something completely different. Ive said plenty of positive things, but these are simply cheap tactics by Rama a few months before election time to gather the right wing/conservative vote, analogous to Berishas "albanofobia" speech before his election.Plako wrote:And you do live in Albania? Maybe it's your overall attitude that doesn't allow you to see things in a positive manner. I've never seen you in this forum say anything positive ever be it the national team, our players abroad or about anything ever. Your specialty seems to be how to find fault in anything.DigBick wrote:You're impressed by Rama because you don't live in Albania and don't know anyone who works for him. This is a bullshit joke to get the populist vote and nothing else. And this coming from the biggest anti-Berisha guy on this forum.
You dont understand the fact that these politicians will do anything for a few percentage points, and if Rama truly cared about Albanians, he wouldnt hire criminals in parliament and be bribed almost as easy as Berisha. Its easy being a Putin type of populist, but that only leads to plutocratically lead shitholes.

Gerrymandering is a different issue, and definitely a problematic one. I was responding more to the U.S. system being just as corrupt as Russia's, which cannot be said with a serious face.Pjetër wrote:in my opinion gerrymandering is a bit worse than lobbying in the u.s.

yeah americans tend to go overboard with the whole corruption idea. not that there isn't a lot of truth to it but many people will say the system is corrupt just because someone they voted for didn't win an election.NYVirus wrote:Gerrymandering is a different issue, and definitely a problematic one. The corruption in America and the corruption in Russia are on two different orders of magnitude. Corporations funding politicians is not on the same level as gunning down opposition leaders with 0 consequences.
