So many of the U17's play in Italy so i think we will gain a few good players. We have Ndoj, Manaj, Agim Zeka and alot of very good players who are all under 20.

Kumbulla will become pro and i have no single doubt about that. Oshafi was very good in first half and i had feeling that many players was playing outside their favorite position.

There are over 150 albanian players playing in U17 in all levels here in Italy. Albanians make most of the foreign players playing in Italy. Italians have started a peoject that should favour those who have their citizzenship because of lack of talent in their nationals , we might see very soon many Ahmetaj and Nivokazi's Albanian youth playing lower than third division won't ever get the possibility to sign the professional contract so they'll just pass their entire career in lower divisions unless their team gets promoted This kind of selection may favour only the best albanian players althrough the difference is very little at that age though. Llullaku had to get transfered to Romania to get that professional title he needs to play in serie a or serie b

Kumbulla and Tafa are the most outsandings talents as CB that we have at youth level. Both are leaders at their Primavera teams that include players up to 21 years old and both are 16-17 years old. Verona is leader of their group and Palermo is also a solid team. Tafa will probably get called by Palermo's main team next year, it was rumoured he'd be called also this season. (Palermo is planning it's relegation so they can sell the club at half price next season while playing in Serie B )

The coach of Italy U17 wasn't that happy that their academies work to produce albanian players. Our FA should continue keeping good relations with Commerciano , if they find a way that albanian players won't be considered "extracomunitari" like they did in Greece then we'd have more players in Serie B and Serie A .

It really fabours us players coming through Italy then Switzerland.

1) Italy has a higher standard so the players will most likely be better on average.

2) The Italian national team is better so we can offer first team football first.

3) The Italian raised Albanians have already been seen to be more patriotic as neither Manaj (big one) or Ndoj represented Italian youth teams.

4) A lot of Albanian nationals around Serie A could help by persuading or just providing an image. Berisha, Ajeti, Veseli, Hysaj, Manaj, Memushaj...maybe soon Ndoj, Tafa, Maloku ect ect.

5) The Italian connection. De Biasi and Tremaxani know all there is to know about Italy and i am sure follow the youth set up closely and will work hard not to let any kids slip away. They also have their connections in Italy. The same language thing also helps.

All in all i am very excited about Italy. I remember long time ago on Xtratime i said soon Italy will be out hub and the moment has come. You have both Albanians from both Republic of Albania and Kosovë so we should get a nice mix.

We are playing Serbia U17 this morning at 11:00 am . This is going to be a decisive game for the group. The quality of the NT can only improve from now on with the talents coming through. At the link above you can see that our connationals send their kids to academies with a higher incidence than Romanians and Morrocans (who have more population here) . Every year more than 1500 albanian kids get "tesserati" for the first time in school academies . There are about 12 thousand albanians (they have only albanians from Albania proper in statistics) playing football in Italy . That could be more than the entire players we have in Albania. The more success gets our NT more Albanians will be playing football and more families will tend to send their kids in academy schools which as a conseguence will improve the quality of our NTs in future. There is not much nepotism like in Albania here in the west so the real talents get scouted quite quickly and get their chances soon or later to show themselves .

Let's be realistic here, even if we are somehow more successful now do you really think those guys will feel any kind of connection with Albania?
We are both Albanians of Italy, and maybe you know better than me how the average 2nd generation Albanian kid has little to no connection with Albania (parents idiocy).
The new norm will be the kind of Ahmetaj and Nivokazi, guys that with much probability don't even know how to speak Albanian.
