With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

What I've noticed about Albania is that their amateurs once in a blue moon actually put in world class performances. We qualified in the first EUROs because for a split second Roshi turned into Prime CR7 and Balaj turned into Zidane. It was only 1 game, but that set the pace for the rest of the campaign. Asani turned into Roberto Carlos for 2 games against Poland/Czech Republic. I also remember DB's first massive away win against Norway when we approached qualification for the first time. It was a crazy free kick from Salihi and Bulku assist.
But Kosovo amateurs never seem to have those key world class performances. They rely too much on guys like Rrahmani or Zhegrova. Albania's key qualifying wins have never come from Cana or Broja.
You're underrating the Albanian team that qualified for Euro 2016 alot.
This Swiss team would suffer alot against current Albania too, as they will suffer against Sweden and Slovenia. Kosova just gifted an easy win to them.
That 2016 Albanian team played with alot of aggression and pressed relentlessly. They were super competitive because the entire team ran themselves to the ground. Di Biasi had an identity with that team with that geggen press style. The team started to fall off at the end of that campaign and especially after the Euros as it's hard to maintain that style. This kind of play doesn't require alot of talent just alot of high work rate players. Abrashi, Xhaka and Lenjani played like pitbulls.
In boxing and MMA, there is a saying.. “styles make fights.”
Albania and Kosovo have different styles.
Albania plays a defensive style like a worse version of Greece.
Kosovo plays an attacking Yugoslav style.
Albania may struggle to run up the score against the likes of Gibraltar but they are also less likely to lose 4-0 to a B level team like Switzerland.
Kosovo runs up the score against the smaller nations with ease (24 goals in last 8 wins in a row before last night), but can also get blown out much easier against a B level opponent.
Overall, I think Albania and Kosovo are of a pretty similar level.
I want to see more friendlies between the two nations. Once every 2 years at least. Used to have them more frequently before and they were always lots of fun!

There's no specific Yugoslav style or Greek style to play the game. All the other ex-Yugo countries play counter-attacking football. Greece seems to have a solid generation right now and are scoring for fun.
^ He's probably talking about Greece from 2004 because this current Greece is one of the most entertaining and attacking NTs right now.
Albania plays exactly like Serbia(but with less talent). EXTREMELY safe, slow, methodical, uncreative, robotic, not a lot of running or pressing... but I think Serbia presses a little bit more.

Negative..
Serbia’s top scorer has 62 goals, about 4 times as much as Albania’s!
Vedat Muriqi also scored more goals than any Greek in history (and he’s not done yet!)..
Greece ran up the score against some small teams of late but don’t get it confused, their identity when it comes down to it is DEFENCE!
Italy, Greece are way better than Albania but they are known for defence..
Yugoslav nations are known for offence! Check their top scorers lists!
Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and to a much lesser extent Kosovo and Macedonia have big time scorers!

Teams change/evolve based on their current players and their abilities.
I’m not so sure they do..
Change as many players as you want on Albania, we will still play slow and struggle to create chances.
Change as many players as you want on Spain, you still know what kind of game you will get when they come in to town.
Change as many players as you want on Georgia, they been giving us the same game for decades.
Change as many players as you want on Czechia, they will never play like Georgia.
I assume there may be some small differences between the players as newer generations come in but not enough to totally change the play style like you are saying..
