We have trouble opening defenses up, especially if they sit back and bunker so I have a bad feeling about this game.Simboli wrote:Just one month ahead of this game . Portugal won 1:0 at home against Armenia with a late goal. We will strugle for sure unless they blow up defensively and somehow we manage to score an early goal but then again we know Peppino will sat back and wait to save that goal difference

Wouldn't do that. Too many mixed feelings. I'd rather stick to one feeling lolPlako wrote: Betting on Armenia to win/tie as per my usual win-win strategy.

It's only Mhkitaryan their biggest threat and probably Pizzelli . Their defence quality is at Luxembourg's level , their midfield makes up for the quality laking in other reparts . I'm positive that if we manage it well we can even beat the goal difference scored by UEFA eventually becoming 2-nd in group ahead of Denmark.

I know we've all been disappointed many times in the past, but let's not fault the current crop of players for what their predecessors did. I think we have a much better team in place this time around vs. the prior qualifiers. 2-0 win!

We beat Armenia before 2-0. This was with a weaker squad as well, so we know their quality and what they bring. The good thing is, is that the Armenian defence is very poor, and so is their midfield besides Henrikh. So I think we have a huge advantage, as our solid back 4 can stop most of the runs made by Henrikh, Movsisyan, Aras. We just need to pressure their back 4 into as many mistakes as possible, and hope to capitalize on good shots (their GK is solid, despite being 41 years old). Our players should come in with their heads high, fully confident because we have the advantage in almost every aspect. It just all depends on De Biasi's bunker tactics and whether he can change it up just for this game specifically.
