This was a meaningless friendly and everyone knows it. But I don't think it was that bad for several reasons. First, this is our first step for the campaign and it's a like an extended practice session for them. Get them out on the field, get their feet under them, let them play against someone else(no matter how poor that team is), let everyone get a chance to play, etc. The score doesn't matter too much and it's more of getting the guys out there. It's all you can do when you play a horrible team like Qatar. Now, if we look like this against Ukraine then yeah I'll start to panic.

As for the game from the lineup choice I knew it was gonna be a sluggish match. You can't really fault Di Biasi since Xhaka, Memushaj, Kace, Kukeli were all out for today, not sure about Abrashi. Maybe he could have experimented more by inserting Rashica in for Gashi but that wasn't gonna happen. That lineup wasn't gonna look good offensively. Lenjani is the only player who is comfortable with the ball(Roshi is a sprinter, Gashi a goal poacher, Basha is shit, Lila is a goon)

Decent/Good:
Aliji, Ajeti, Mavraj, Lenjani, Agolli, Berisha

Bad
Balaj, Basha, Hysaj, Gashi, Roshi

I've seen rashica play and he hustles for every ball and today he looked like he didnt wonna be on the pitch. Don't judge on this game lets move on to the next 1 against ukraine.
So you're saying Rashica the player that needs to prove to the coach that he deserves to go to France is not motivated, cuz he was playing vs nobodies? :talumsha:
The whole team looked like it wasn't motivated. But yeah i didn't understand him on the field today tbh. Maybe he was told he's not in the 23 men squad and the frustration got to him. But to Prove himself? i don't think so man. He already proved himself during the season scoring 8 goals giving a few assists and has more mins then any other winger in our nt.

It was tough because no one on the squad is able to string a pass to him besides Agolli where they had a decent pairing on the left flank late on the match. The offense was just hoofing the ball up over the top

How can you slate Rashica?

After what Gashi and Roshi did you lot are very deluded.

As Nico said he proved himself at Vitesse.

It's really embarrassing to think that Rashica has to prove himself against a player who plays for Colorado and another who gets like 3 minutes a week in the Croatian league but that's the reality.

It's sad

Sadiku is going to score a critical goal for us at the Eurocups I just have this feeling..

Right now, Romania is getting crushed by Ukraine(3-1) so our next friendly is going to really show what level of play we can expect from our team in the tournament.

Make that 4-1. At least we play Romania instead of Ukraine in the game that matters.

I don't think Sadiku will get any minutes at the Euro, unless Cika gets injured.

People who say "what if Rashica didn't show anything? what did "x" and "y" player prove?" are totally missing the point. Roshi, Gashi and co have already solidified their places in the Euros because of their contributions in the qualifiers so they can AFFORD to prove less than a new player who's actually fighting to make the squad because he wasn't part of the team in the qualifiers.

But where it comes down to let's be honest... Rashica is overrated. You could see it today and you could even see it in the training videos posted. He's another Jahmir Hyka and possibly worse. He was terrible for every u21 match I watched(Cekici was much superior) and I don't know/care what he does in the Dutch league because in that league even Vasil Shkurtaj was a starter for a period of time(a guy who can't play in the Greek 3rd division). It's true that's a good development league and it can produce some good players but it can also be very deceiving like with Rashica.
