I can probably PM you a link if you'd like... I'd rather not out myself to everyone as it's published under my full name. It's a legal article though, not that interesting really (about 50 pages where half of each page is footnotes).Pjetër wrote:where can i find this article?

Oh, definitely. Albanians have 0 grounds to apply for political asylum, especially from Albania. Most of them are lying by fabricating stories that they were gay and being persecuted, or they're in blood feuds.

While there is no widespread political persecution in Albania there are instances where one could make a bona fide claim of persecution. For example someone like Kosta Trebicka would have had a good claim. From what I hear now the only way someone has a chance of being granted asylum is by claiming persecution baded on sexual orientation or claiming to be in a blood feud.NYVirus wrote:There is no reasonably claim any Albanian can have for political asylum at this point. Fair enough, should substitute "any Albanian" with "just about any Albanian"... If you can show that you are a whistleblower against the government and have had threats against you, then that should probably work given the framework. I am curious about the blood feud cases, at least as it concerns U.S. asylum law. Which protected ground does that fit under? I assume it fits under "membership in a social group" as social group can be narrowly defined. Here are a couple of examples where that works as "social group": http://www.refworld.org/topic,50ffbce40 ... ,,USA.html http://www.refworld.org/topic,50ffbce40 ... ,,USA.htmlPlako wrote:While there is no widespread political persecution in Albania there are instances where one could make a bona fide claim of persecution. But, from my own experience, I steer far clear of any asylum related cases as there has been quite a history of Albanian (and I bet other, but I personally only know of Albanian) asylum claims that all present the same exact claims and that often are either canned from the attorneys or the attorneys turn a blind eye to them (and have actually led to at least a couple of attorneys I know getting disbarred and convicted of asylum fraud). I have personally seen tens of applicants from Kosovo all claiming the same exact events occurred to them down to the minute details (as a paralegal before law school)... that is the kind of thing that raises a big red flag for me.

NSFW, once you see you can't unsee... I personally don't think it's anyone's business but wow, way to bury this guy's career. To be fair, what he was doing was in the privacy of his home and there is no allegation that the women he was sex chatting with were underage.

How did it ruing his career? Was he fired? Pretty stupid of him to do that considering his position. What is TopChannel supposed to do? They have to disassociate themselves from him now. He is a public figure and should have exercised more caution. Can't say I feel bad for him.NYVirus wrote:http://gazetaexpress.com/mobile ... oto-95337/Plako wrote:Link?NYVirus wrote:To shift gears a little bit, what do you guys think of the Sokol Balla stuff that has been all over the news in Albania?

I never heard of the guy before but he's an idiot.. He has to understand as a politician people are going to dig up any dirt they have on you and having d1ck picks is the worst thing you can do.
BTW, anyone following the events in Macedonia? This part is old news but Gruevski wiretapped 20k individuals in the country and has major dirt on basically every prominent figure in the country.. In recent days there's been some protests were some explosives were set off near political places and the government blamed Albanians/UCK for it when it's clearly not. You know when the Macedonian parties are calling it a false flag attack then it's clearly some false some BS propaganda move by the government.
And the other day they made rumors that some police officers stationed near Kosova border were kidnapped and threatened by the UCK or members in the UCK uniform. Again, everyone(even the macedonians) are calling this a false flag attack.. Funny seeing serbs on the internet calling this an Islamic terrorist attack though lol
Bottom line is Gruevski has become a dictator and is playing dirty ball to ensure his power. You thought Rama, Hashim and Berisha was bad? This guy is on the next level
Too bad the Albanian parties aren't speaking up but their too busy being subdued by Gruevski and have too much vested in his survival. Real shame.
