How many of you have ever read a book on Albania's history. I know one poster definately did as a week ago or so he posted something interesting, just cannot remember who it was.
Anyway the word you lot are using for a Albanian from Kosovë is not valid for an Albanian to use. Only someone who is poorly educated uses that word. It is simply an Albanian from Kosovë.

You really have some deep identity crisis kid.

Kosovo is a country recognized by more than half of the world and by many major organizations. You need to get over it.

Pretending something so evident doesn't exist is not very healthy. You're stuck in the 1990's maybe.

andi2410 wrote:I have a problem with guys like Januzaj and Mustafi who leveraged an Albania call up to join another National Team. I think the term "Tradhtar" is pretty accurate for these scumbags. As far as the guys who are born in other countries, and choose to represent those countries, we can't really fault them. Plus, it's only fair that they contribute to the countries that brought them up. However, because I understand it, it does not mean that I would do the same thing. Ne jemi dhe mbetemi Shqiptare.

Te be fair Januzaj(especially) and Mustafi never asked for Albania's attention. Januzaj never showed any signs of wanting to play for Albania while Mustafi made it clear from day 1 that he'll play for Albania only if he's not in Germany's plans.

The only traitors I can think of are Kabashi(more dumb than a traitor), Brahimi(jumped to the Swiss u-21 after playing 2+ years for the Albanian u-21), Gercaliu(Albanian product who played for Austria).

Is that true though? He went on an interview for Albanian media. Also had his dad give interviews. If his intention was to play for Belgium, should have just done that at first chance. He left everyone hanging, including thousands of people messaging on his fb page or whatever. Because he never "came out and said it", it does not excuse that duplicitous behaviour.

As far as I know, Mustafi accepted a call-up by Albania, only to turn it down last minute. Is that not true?

Who cares how many countries have recognized Kosova as a state. By that logic, 20 years before, I was a jugoslav.

We are albanians and nothing else. I dont know why its so funny for you to rile people up with your opinions as I honestly dont believe you to be genuine. At least I hope not.

Even if Xhaka, Shaqiri don't join Kosova, they still make a decent team.

Januzaj (Man Utd) Abdi (Watford) Uysal (Besikats) Hetemaj (Chievo) Besart Berisha

Some descent players they will most likely call up

You figure Kosova will have a higher ceiling than Albania with potential players like Celina, Januzaj, Rashica, Avdijaj, Tarashaj, Ajeti, Halimi, Ferati, etc. Albania really doesn't have that, we get excited about a guy like Cekici but lets be real..

GDB really fucked up by calling up trash players like Sadiku and Balaj over players with potential like Rashica, Avdijaj and Tarashaj. Now we potentially lost them.

I read somewhere that UEFA and FIFA set a clause that if the players held a dual nationality (Kosovo + Country of residence) at the time that they chose to represent the country of residence then they won't be able to switch to Kosovo, even if Kosovo wasn't recognized by the governing football bodies at that time.
