Plako, this league was considered professional and was sanctioned by CSA. However, a couple of years ago after the betting scandal, CSA wrote it off. The league has diminshed in size as a result of that, and lost most of its funding.
The problem with leagues like CSL is that they are too ethnocentric and almost impossible to expand their fanbase since their fans are strictly from the old country (Croatia, Ukraine, etc) and they don't appeal to the general soccer fan. I know Toronto Croatia was a powerhouse back in the day and even won the NASL title in the 70's but the general public never embraced due to their obvious Croatian connection.

NSL in Australia had the same problem before A-League came into existence. They had teams with thousands of fans but they could never expand their fanbase and the kids of the immigrants adapted the existing football codes (Aussie football and rugby) once they grew up.

Gibraltar's champions beat Celtic today at home 1-0. Surely there is hope for Partizani tomorrow :)

Let's see how strong is Ferencvarosi but we don't have full squad and we had lot of troubles during preparations, new coach, without Mazrekaj and Fejzullahu, Volas joined squad only two days ago.

I saw Lincoln vs Celtic and they should have won with bigger margin and i won't be surprised if they will go through. If Partizani does a miracle against hungarians, can face them in the third qualifying round. :ckemi:

Partizani is an amateur team. Skenderbeu would have eaten this team alive. Takaj is a fucking moron. His team had a good thing going. Gained millions from UEFA and still never let his old habits die.

Partizani is missing sitters, while ironically, a guy named Bode scores from an impossible Roberto Carlos angle with the one proper chance they've had all game. I don't understand what the point of buying Arapi is, when he was Skenderbeu's weakest link and was holding them back. They also insist on starting Vila who is completely useless even for Albanian league, when they have a guy like Bardhi sitting on the bench. Also, Hoxha is terrible. How is this guy a captain?

Partizani plays with a lot of heart but lacks talent is about every single position.

Yeah, but they could have easily won by 2 goals this game. Fili missed an absolute sitter, and Arapi and Hoxha had a major f*** up. If Kukesi can beat teams like Metalurg you can't really make excuses.

Also, we should keep an eye on Fili for the NT. He's a great dribbler, just a shitty finisher. Then again he's a winger.

Man Fili is not even good enough for the u-21. He's an amateur. Players like that make one good thing and screw up 10 other things. For 1 good dribble he'll fail in his next 10 dribbles. Same goes for all these Partizani players. Just pure amateurism.

Watching this game it felt like the Hungarians didn't even give 50% effort. As soon as Partizani scored the Hungarians started playing and that's when the differences between the sides showed. Talent wise and especially professionalism. The Hungarians looked confident and in control even when they were down. They weren't anything special themselves(Skenderbeu could give them a fair fight) but it's more of how weak Partizani is.

I'm more optimistic about Kukesi eliminating Austria Vienna than Partizani getting a draw in Hungary. I think the Hungarians will show their true face there and easily beat this amateur team.

Yeah, but who do we have leading our attack in NT?

Come on man. You're serious? Roshi, Lenjani, Sadiku, Cikalleshi and at least 30 more Albanian wingers/forwards are way better than Fili. This kid wasn't even a starter for Partizani until Sukaj left and Mazrekaj got suspended. He's barely an Albanian league level player.
