I always saw Scanderbeg as a prince born into an Orthodox who converted to Islam and died as a Catholic. In a weird way he is the perfect embodiment of Albanians.

I agree I don't think Skanderbeg was ever overtly religious, he was a strategic general who knew how to make alliances based on faith/religion.

But now to be fair I will say there is one great aspect of Islam that is often overlooked:
Islam is the only religion that specifically says people of all colors are equal.
That's literally the same with other religions, you're acting like this is a phenomenon exclusive to Muslim Albanians. You don't think Christian Albanians are Christian because their parents were..? Come on man you're smarter than that..
Do you realize that Albanians mass converted to Christianity at one point in history? Before Albanians/Illyrians were pagans worshiping snakes and the sun and before that who knows. It's the same with every ethnic group around the world. Religion has no bearing on race or ethnicity. I can convert to Budhism tomorrow and I will still be an Albanian. To say real Albanians are Catholics(like you mentioned previously) is extremely ignorant and naive. It's even more idiotic as "Muslim" Albanians tend to be the most nationalistic and that's the truth.
Furthermore, yes the Turks did try to erase us but Catholic and Non-Muslim invaders haven't done the same? You can say that Albania under the Roman empire(yes, I know they weren't christian..) destroyed Illyrian culture from the face of this earth and later the Eastern Roman empire for centuries. At one point, the Romans forced Christianity upon the natives just like the Ottomans did to us with Islam. I'm not even mention what Slavic invaders and Greek bargains did to Albanians for centuries.

I know what your point, it has often been repeated by Albanians and I think it's 90% right. The only 10% I disagree with is that the Romans actually didn't destroy our culture like you say they did. In fact the Romans were notorious for allowing conquered people to keep their same set of beliefs.
I have never read about the Romans kidnapping children or mass converting, so if there is any reading material that can tell me I'm wrong I'm more than willing to be enlightened. Islam and Orthodox are backwards religions. Catholicism has plenty of it's own problems as well (i.e. pedophilia amongst trusted officials, corruption etc). Personally I want to see a secular Albania, and I don't like us to be considered a majority Muslim country, when the majority of people aren't even religious. That's just me though.

I've applied for tickets Plako but no luck yet. Waiting for a couple of options to go thru. Have no issues of accommodation as I've been promised by a couple of Parisians I can stay with them. Transport from here is easy. Will know soon. I think I will go. At worst I'll watch one game among French frogs as I've got that.

Things are quiet over here, not much activity since we moved from Xtratime. Some posters like Shpati and Zemi have completely disappeared. It happens though, I'm sure they have better things to do than post here

Been travelling and exploring a lot lately Plako, mainly Germany and others as well. Have come to the conclusion that UK just doesn't compare with any in Europe. Different cattle of fish. The whole EU is just a faggot basket
