Not sure if anyone follows but the qualifers draw for the next european championship is done and we have been placed in a group with Bosnia, Switzerland and Romania.

There are 7 groups in total where the top team gets the automatic qualification and 5 out of 7 second placed teams get in the tournament as well. It's a HUGE chance for an Albanian team to finally qualify for a major tournament. Qualifiers start in 3 days and we will be hosted by Romania, the process will be held for 3 weeks until 20th of August. I got the feeling we will be proud very soon.

Looks like we're handicapped everywhere. Can't watch this crap after 2 sets.

It's really depressing to watch Albania national teams. I remember that i watched women basketball game against Russia, they lost with more than 100 points difference. With all due respect i don't believe it's worthy to pay flight tickets.

Real sad. If it wasn't for diaspora Albanians getting trained in other countries our football team would still be nothern Ireland level.

It's the legacy of Hoxha's neglect of sports for 45 years. We had some minor success in Women's Volleyball for a couple of years and that's about it. In contrast, look at the legacy of the former Yugoslav republics who are all punching above their weight in term of sports. Even Kosova is doing much better after all the hardships they have been through. Kosova already passed Albania after only about 5 years of being allowed to participate in UEFA competitions. That speaks volumes.

We just beat Bosnia with a huge come back after trailing by 2 sets. Low quality game, however all we did need was the victory we eventually gained. We got to play against Switzerland now which are Bosnia level and tbh I don't want to jinx it but I'm rather optimistic for the following games :)

I don't know much about volleyball but Switzerland beat Bosnia in the first match 3-1 and last year they beat us twice so...
