When the prime minister, politicians and almost every public official in the country, takes "envelopes" under the table, it's not hard to believe youth coaches are doing it too.

I mean you had the England coach involved in non-sense, imagine the corruption in Albania. I never believed Duka asked Shaqiri & co (that's fucking retarded Duka is a millionaire, asking Shaqiri for 2 grand is moronic), but these youth coaches taking money for giving caps is more than just a possibility.

I heard from people in Tirana that coaches asking for money to call up players is rampant.

If De Biasi or the coach of the Kombetare would aproach him and his family he would change idea in no time. Klinsman was capping right and left 17years old players playing for youth teams in Germany , why shouldn't we do that aswell? These qualifiers will be over by november once Israel beats us 3:1 in Tirana ;) What would be the point of playing with Agolli-Kukeli-Basha-Lila then?

idk why it's so much harder to believe that some italian born teenager doesn't want much to do with albanian youth NT instead of conspiracies involving coaches asking money and shit

i've lived most my adult life abroad and when i returned to albania i just couldnt believe the amount of conspiracy theories going around. every tavern drunk has at least 10 conspiracy theories. 99,99% of it is total bullshit. dont believe it!

Yes I agree with your general point that Albanians make up shit all the time and pass it along as the truth but some of the instances I heard are from personal experiences of people I trust. In some cases it's not coaches asking for money but it's players offering money to the coach to get playing time and exposure.

Niveli i korrupsionit ka me u rrit ne Kosove edhe situata ka me shku tu u degradu, ama te jeni sigurt qe Kosova ka me pas perfaqesim shume ma te mire ne ekipet u-17 u19 u-21 edhe besoj qe qatehere ka me plas debati ne Shqiperi per ekipet e moshave. Ne Shqiperi nje femije i varfer sado i talentum te jete e ka gati te pamundshme me i ul ne stol femijet e 'ftyrave publike' apo njerzve me pushtet perderisa ky fare fenomeni perceptohet si dicka 'normale' atehere Shypnia ka me vazhdu me njejtin trend.

Zeni, I'm really liking your analysis on general things. Keep it up. Good posts the past few weeks.

Lol, it's embarrassing. Fyrom U21, just made history topping a group with France, Iceland & Ukraine in it. While Albania get their asses handed by freaking Israel.

Spot on analysis Zeni.

I bet that Macedonia u-21 probably had a few Albanians in its lineup too.

3 albanian players in the lineup and 2 on bench of whom one came in scoring the decisive goal (Bardhi) sealing the qualification.

Honestly don't know why rugby isn't more famous in Albania. Any sport that has nice, modern fields, they're going to do terribly in. They're used to punching, kicking each other in the mud. Just switch sports, and end this nightmare.
