With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!
Those scores are probably random. My scores would be:
Berisha 5/10
Kumbulla (MOTM) 9/10
Veseli and Ismajli 7.5 or 8/10
Hysaj 5/10
Trashi 4/10
Bare 5/10
Ramadani 6.5/10
Roshi 6.5/10
Uzuini 4/10
Manaj 0/10
Automated stat can only judge on what you did do not what you didn't do if that makes sense, so if a player didn't do anything they can still get a 6.5 because nothing marks them down (makes it really misleading for players that dont get involved) but it can be a useful resource sometimes i think. Trashi actually playing as a CM is awful and is defo a reason why we couldn't progress the ball so not surprised he got the lowest
Imo:
Berisha 5/10
Kumbulla 9/10
Veseli/Ismajli 7/10
Trashi 3/10
Bare 6/10 (one fuckup but other than that not bad)
Ramadani 6.5/10
Roshi 6/10 (but very positive just no end product)
Uzuni 3/10
Manaj 3/10

Speaking of lack of players. Muci should have been called.
Reja sent him back so quickly, we probably won't see him play until a new manager comes, so stupid given he has the qualities we really need with free kicks and creative ability
A man who showed us what it means to play with heart for your country. Although super underrated and often looked over in favor of others, he never complained about it. This player kept his head down until it was time to prove himself on the biggest of stages, and that he did!
After an inspiring performance last night, I consider him as having the potential to be a big part of our squad moving forward. Yet another solid alternative we have discovered at that position!

We're so terrible offensively at home against bigger teams
Portugal 0-1 (last minute goal)
Serbia 0-2 (last minute goals)
Turkey 0-2
Spain 0-2
Italy 0-1 (last 20 minutes goal)
England 0-2
France 0-2
Poland 0-1 (last 15 minute goal)
Literally you have to go back to 2013 when Salihi scored a consolation penalty against Switzerland at the end. We can score against some even-level teams like Norway and Hungary, but superior teams, we are so so terrible, especially at home.
Mental midgets.
Talent aside, they also don't have the mentality to cause upsets.
Many small teams play way above their level when they play superior teams at home, in front of hostile crowds. You see it in league play all the time where relegation teams upset the top teams pretty regularly.
For some odd reason, seems like home field advantage and hostile atmospheres have an opposite affect on Albania players. They actually shrink even below their level.
It's so frustrating, because while I do feel we've made progress in the last 10 years mentally, it's still very marginal.
Macedonia beats Germany 2-1 away. Hungary ties England away 1-1. Georgia beat Spain. We're still hanging on to Balaj's goal from 2014.

When are we going to start holding Hysaj accountable for his poor performances and endless mistakes? I’ve never seen a player make so many mistakes and never get benched or even having a remote discussion of getting benched. It’s like he can play as he wishes and he will never get dropped. We really need some depth at wingback to push him to perform at club level for us too.

What are we going to do? Play Albi Doka?

I know we don’t have other options, but he’s been terrible for a while now. I’d drop him a game or 2 for Balliu, just to test the waters and send him a message.
Hysaj has just cost us a World Cup qualification! He gifted the bloody visitors a late goal in front of 22k Albanians! Not the same player from 2014! He filled his pockets and does not give a bollocks anymore!
