There is no meritocracy.

Asani, Bajrami, Ramadani can have unlimited bad games, be completely out of form for both club and country and it doesn't matter... they will still be guaranteed starters because of something they did ages ago. Reminds me of Bekim Balaj.

Qazim Laci is another one who's being overlooked for being bad because he runs a lot(for no reason). He loses basically every single duel, very challenged technically, athletically/physically. Another guaranteed starter no matter what.

You have a 6 foot Serie A starter on your bench who you play 0 minutes. Refuse to give others a proper chance too.

At this point it looks like Sylvinho has lost any motivation and the team is playing like that.

I can't defend Sylvinho anymore, he had the Euros & Nation League campaigns to understand that players like Ramadani, Laçi & Asani are not starting material and still forces them into the starting lineup.

To be honest, for playing England at Wembley, that wasn't so bad.

We actually had a very good chance of equalising in the 75th minute if Broja doesn't miss the pass.

That is with all the tactical errors made and the very ineffectual attack. All things considered, it was surprising.

The main issue is that Asani and Bajrami are simply not physical enough to be paired on the wings. You can play one, but playing both just does not give enough width and directness.

Another proof of Albanian players being absolute cowards and getting starstruck of England instead competing against them:

Fouls:

England 9
Albania 7

Only 1 yellow card...

against a team that had nearly 80% possession. Incredible.. Remember what Djimsiti said after the Italy game. It happened again

No change in mentality will make Asani understand basic rules of the game, or make Uzuni win physical battles against a 2 meter tall CB.

Guys like Djim, Strakosha, Balliu, who are professional did their job. The issue is the one-trick pony amateurs that are ruining this squad. We have to suffer through 10 shitty games of Asani doing nothing, because once in those 10 games he scores.

Latvia will play England twice. I promise you that they will pull a more respectable performance than Albania did tonight. Might even score a goal. Nevermind Serbia that will probably beat England...
This is the same Albania was happy to lose to Italy and Spain in the Euros and to protect a draw against Croatia in a must win game.

Albania has no respect for itself. I get you have to play defensive against England but you could atleast try and develop a counter attack strategy. They had no idea what to do when they got the ball and didn't even had expectations of getting it past the midfield line. The scoreline doesn't look too bad because England treated it like a scrimmage with 80% ball possession and not having to break a sweat.

Our roster just isn't that good. You can nitpick at certain selections but the reality is outside of a few players none of these really distinguish themselves massively from each other.

Outside of Djimsiti there is no player in that team you can consider a guarantee.

We were clean through on goal in the 70th if Broja could make a 5 yard pass. After that I am sure everyone would be praising the masterclass Sylvinho put on if we get a draw there.

You have to take your moments against these types of teams. We didn't make any major errors really.

The only thing to say is that Asani and Bajrami shouldn't be paired together. They are not direct enough and the team needs width on one side at least.

Agreed but that's my point...

Djimsiti should be a guaranteed starter
Mitaj should be a guaranteed starter because of consistent good games
Asllani should be a guaranteed starter because there is no one better
Broja should be a guaranteed starter if fit and healthy because there is no one better
Ismajli should be a guaranteed starter if fit too

The rest have no business being guaranteed starters but they are.. Asani, Bajrami, Laci, Ramadani are guaranteed starters even though they have been terrible for 10+ games straight. You already rewarded them for the euro qualification. Why are you still rewarding them??

They should be competing with the bench players. Lets see what the others can do... Give Muci 4-5 games as a starter to see if he can do anything. I've seen what he can do against Athletic Bilbao and Aston Villa so you're not putting in some amateur.. Give Medon 4-5 games to see his value. His club already thinks he's way better than Ramadani so why not? Gotta give others a chance even if they play bad.

I think the current core of players has reached their peak as evidenced by the drop to UNL C..

No shame in that. They had a great run but it might be time to move on..

Bajrami and Ramadani have nothing left to prove and are not the same players from a couple years ago.

Hard to improve with physically inferior players like Asani and others. Time to phase them out..

Incorporating new players who have something to prove like Medon Berisha, Muci, and others seems like a no brainer.
