Let's hope for Partizan belgrade in Europa League or some greek teams 3 are already in Paok, Panathinaikos, Asteras, chance to get one is high or Basiktas or Fenerbahce Skenderbeu always kick the ass of the turks. Or maybe Legia warsaw to see again polish ultras to get another lesson in Albania.
Dortmund Arena or Anfield could be worth for a away game as well.
This Europa League for Skenderbeu looks juicy

seriously it wouldve been cool to see them in CL but kinda glad it didnt happen they wouldve flat out embarrassed themselves and albanian football, a team like Dinamo go in the group stages and get thrown around like nothing so who knows what wouldve happened with skenderbeu
EL is a very nice consolation prize, dont expect nothing from their but it would be nice for the players to get to experience European football and against potentially some big names today in football

C'mon let's not exaggerate now. DZ is a massively experienced team and in a different class from Skenderbeu, but let's not take away from Skenderbeu's achievement.Aurora Bulkualis wrote:Come on guys. Skenderbeu is a joke. They're not better than Kukesi, etc.. they just got an easy ride by facing semi-pro teams.

Skenderbeu pussied out once they saw they drawed Dinamo which is pathetic. Dinamo was probably one of the weaker teams in the selection besides BATE, Partizan, Apoel, Astana, etc. Korce were comfortable with making it to the EL group stages but even that they are still going to need a proper backline to compete in those matches and worst of Salihi left for Israel for a higher paycheck. They can't even keep their team together for the EL

^ In all fairness Saiihi is useless against stronger teams. I doubt he would be much help in the EL. He'd be more of a liability than anything. He would tear the Albanian league apart though. Those are the type of teams he can score against... I actually liked the formation Skender played today because it was more fitted for counter attacks.
They are having roster problems though and the transfers are shady foreigners like the Hristov and Nimaga type. I think they'll struggle in the league this year.
Tirana, Partizani and even Kukesi with their Brazilians look interesting on paper.

Not really. Dinamo are on par with Celtic & Basel. They're as strong as it gets in the league route. Don't forget this team has produced Modric, Kovacic, Halilovic, Mandzukic, etc.. They just kinda blow in Europe.artan wrote:Dinamo was probably one of the weaker teams in the selection besides
What pisses me off about these ex-Yugo teams, is they benefited from being in a country of 20+ million people for so long, and the capital teams flourished. Now even with populations of 5-10 million, they have really strong teams. It's like Catalonia declaring independence, and a country with 7 million people (less than Serbia) having a team as strong as Barcelona, when in reality without all the other Spanish teams and La Liga they wouldn't be this strong.

Prize Money according to UEFAShemy wrote: EL is a very nice consolation prize,
2nd QF round of CL = 0.3 mill Euros
3rd QF round of CL = 0.4 mill Euros
Play-off Elimination in CL = 3.0 mill Euros
Group Stage Fee in EL = 1.3 mill Euros
The total is 5 million euros without even counting the money made from wins/draws in group stages. If LedZep was right about them having an annual budget of 1 million, then this is big money.Hopefully, the idiots will see that it's much better to compete in Europe than to sell matches, and actually invest that money.

You didn't state the league coefficients . If Skenderbeu somehow manages to win 1 or 2 matches in EL groups then our league will benefit.... Current league points as of 25 august:

So winning two games in EL groups means we would be passing Bosnia (getting another 4 pts divided for 4 teams :
