Albania at EURO 2016

With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

Guess at this stage he would prefer Albania because of the potential marketing window Euro2016 is compared to the African Cup. But the better answer for your question is another question: Would any of our actual players play for Albania over their born countries assuming they'd be enough good to play for them and they were asking them to? So we are doing useless mental saws because until Duka will be there there will be no naturalized african players playing for Albania even if they're born/raised in Albania.
I believe both Olaynka and any foreign born Albanians would choose a better team than Albania. However, the difference is that Olaynka is Nigerian and our players are ethnically Albanian, so they still have a connection to Albania whereas Olaynka has no connection whatsoever. This is the National Team we're talking, we should have a bare minimum of requirements from our players and being Albanian should be at least one of them.

For the life of me I don't even understand why we're having this conversation.

Exactly! It's not like we're talking about neutralizing Mario Balotelli or Mikel Arteta but Peter Olayinka..

I guess but he is way too young and still in the Superliga. He hasn't even proven himself in a better league yet.

No way it's that high. It'll probably be like 8-10 million

They are getting 12 million only because they qualified and the new German car producing company (i assume W or BMW ) will give around 20 million€ to have it's brand on our shirt as the main sponsor. Having a pot 1 team in our group means one of the three matches we play at group stage will have at least 150 million viewers . The amount of 30 million € only from sponsors was dettailed in an article i can't find now because it was shared on facebook. If they pass the group stage then they get much more , about 10 millions for each stage. They could easily build the new stadium in Tirane with all that money.

No way sponsoring Albania is worth €20 million for one tournament alone, considering that sponsors are not allowed to put their name on the playing shirt, only on warmups. Sounds like BS to me.

Here's the 2012 payouts

UEFA Euro Prize Money Distribution

PAYMENT DETAILS
Participation Fee €8 million For each and every 16 teams
Drawing Grounp Match €500,000 For drawing a match in group stage
Winning Group Match €1 million Every time a team wins a group match
Finishing 3rd in Group €1 million Awarded to team finishing 3rd in every group
Quarter Finals €2 million Awarded to all eight teams in QFs
Semifinals €3 million Awarded to all four teams in SFs
Runnerups €4.5 million Awarded To Team losing in the final
Champions €7.5 million Awarded to Final Winners (Spains total earnings were €24 million in Euro 2012)

That's from 2012, they expect the total revenue earned from this summers competition to spike up by something like 50%. Apparently participation earning is gonna be 9 million euros this summer alone but I'm not sure if Albania can meet that 30mil mark. But that is just the prize money alone.

But still that money can pay for like 3 Elbasan Arenas...
