MLS fans on Reddit and BigSoccer boards are over the moon with Gashi's signing. They're tired of MLS signing over the hill old Euro stars so they're happy with Gashi who's only 27. Hope Gashi doesn't disappoint like Salihi.

I'm deeply dissappointed by his move. Was expecting him to come and play here in Serie A or in Germany at least. Tuned in saturday to watch USA vs Iceland right after the madonina derby and it was like a psychiatric meltdown for mePlako wrote:MLS fans on Reddit and BigSoccer boards are over the moon with Gashi's signing. Well if you watch most league games from anywhere in the world outside the big 4 leagues after you watch Inter-Milan they'll seem like Superliga levelSimboli i Diellit wrote:I'm deeply dissappointed by his move. Watched one or two matches of Salihi's exteam waiting for him to sub in and those were boring also. Football in US seems albanian superliga on steroids .

These MLS clubs are so dumb. They sign players without properly scouting them but only based on stats and names. They see Gashi scored x amount of goals for Basel and assume that he'll do wonders for them. Same thing with Salihi..
In order for poachers like Salihi and Gashi to be effective they need the entire team to be forward in attacj, they can't play in mediocre teams because they'd get exposed. That's why I predict that Gashi will flop miserably in MLS.

I hate to admit it but I think you may be right. Also Colorado has been terrible and I doubt he'll be getting any service there. If he were going to Columbus Instead he might have done better.
In the end the main factor for his move is the money and I'm sure he's getting plenty of it. Looks like he signed a 4 year contract.
Having said all this he could very turn out like Berisha in Australia and tear up the league. I still have a little hope.

MLS is a very tough league to project. There's so much parity in a season and Colorado can be one of the best teams in the league this year, it's just the nature of the league.
As for if he will adopt I think he should be fine. At the club level when he plays he generally scores alot of goals and he's proven that at both Basel and Grasshopper. He's been brought in with every intention of being their standout player so he'll get his chances and the team will be built around him.
I think he'll be more than fine.
PS, many goal poachers have done well in the MLS. Take for example Chris Wondoloksi, Mike Magee, Marco Di Vaio, Bradley Wright Phillips, etc.

Just forget about him. The move is a joke and we don't need players who play in the MLS. We have a top winger who is tearing up the Erdevise at 19 years old, should be concentrating on players like him.

MLS isn't a bad league by any means. It's on par with the Swiss Superleague and probably even better imo. We don't seem to have any problems with capping players from Switzerland.Albo_eagle wrote:Just forget about him. The move is a joke and we don't need players who play in the MLS. Colorado Rapids is like Skenderbeu level. Probably worse. I'd still call up Gashi if he kept scoring. At least they don't fix matches and eat fasule every day in the US.

It's not better than the Swiss league, but even if it is the main thing is that the Swiss League is a stepping stone to bigger things where as the MLS is a league where finished players go and that is the main thing. Tarashaj and Embolo are examples of the Swiss League doing what MLS cannot.artan wrote:MLS isn't a bad league by any means. It's on par with the Swiss Superleague and probably even better imo. Besart Berisha and Gashi should be binned. They choose to play in poor league's, and when that happens they beed to accept not being part of the national team anymore.
