I actually think Vv's support has dropped and is lower than it was when they were just a movement.

And scenes like this scare the crap out of normal people https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Zvfg0qSu0Nw
1. LDK will NEVER get the amount of support in the coming elections. 90% of those who voted for them voted AGAINST PDK but in the end they accepted a coalition with PDK. So many of their voters will go to one of the opposition parties and I think it'll mainly be VV. Also quite a few polls show a massive rise for VV and place them as the second force only a few percent behind PDK. Here's a phone poll from a few days ago: https://www.facebook.com/vetevendosje/v ... 975722000/

- Now I know that this video doesn't prove anything and that it might not be representative of a wider picture, but I'm almost certain, that it's a sign of a massive surge for VV. Even the host is surprised. But I repeat, there's nothing conclusive because of a single video. I'm just saying that it's a positive sign.

2. I think you are right. And I think a big part of the reason for that is, that back then they weren't a direct danger for those in power, as they weren't represented in parliament and didn't endanger their positions. They were a movement outside of the institutions. Once they ran for office they became an enemy endangering these corrupt fuckers positions and they underwent a very harsh hate campaign from all sides + people had no incentive to vote for them, because the party in power had already "clientelized" those who had jobs. But there are many explanations.

3. I understand what you're saying, but VV is a peaceful movement. They damage property, but they do not attack people. That's also what you can see in the video, you've posted. Dardan Molliqaj stops the mob from attacking the car while there's a driver (also a criminal from the government) in it. He tells him to take his stuff and then helps him out, so he's not endangered when the mob demolish the car. In every protest there will be a small group of people who can't stop themselves and result to violent actions. Other times it's people paid by the government to ruin a peaceful protest who start shit. Before there was a lot of focus on these things, but it's as if the people of Kosova have begun to see past this and understand that a very small number of violent - primarily - youths can't ruin a strong message sent by tens of thousands protesting in the streets.

Very interesting. I still would have liked an Albanian from Kosova to represent the Albanian viewpoint.

Yeah, let's try to level the crimes of the Serbs with those of the Albanians and share the blame 50/50. Because that's really what happned, right? Fking dickheads.

Blushi has 0 chance to win, even if they hold elections. It's good that at least there is opposition within the party. I don't think Blushi would be a better executive than Rama, but Rama is almost as corrupted as PD, and if that could be fixed everything else will follow. Also, keep an eye out for Gjergj Bojaxhi as he's forming a new center/center-right party.

What I'm hoping to happen before the next election is that PD/PS vote for a winner-take-all system like the general election in US, where smaller parties are essentially eliminated. Albania is not ready for smaller parties, as they will always be used for corruption/nepotism. Hopefully, I don't have to see Ilir Meta's disgusting face ever again, the only asshole who is possibly more corrupt than Berisha.

You're right about Meta but I think we'd be better off if we had 4-5 political parties.

In theory I don't disagree, but the smaller parties are there to do the "dirty work", that undermine democracy. LSI buys votes for left coalition (either outright or by offering jobs in exchange for votes), while Mediu's party buys votes for the right coalition. Guys like Marku have actually murdered people in EU and are members of parliament because of buying votes. Mediu is just a tool, but Meta is a power hungry monster and most politically savvy person in that country. Rama took out both Nano and Berisha that dominated the 2000s, but is being bossed around by Meta who is second in command.
