Sauerland Event has announced that WBA regular light heavyweight champion Juergen Braehmer (45-2, 33 KOs) will defend his title against Robin Krasniqi (43-3, 16 KOs) on March 21 in Rostock, Germany. The fight will be televised on SAT.1. Krasniqi has won four fights in a row since dropping a twelve round decision to then WBO champion Nathan Cleverly in April of 2013. Braehmer, who will be making his fourth defense of the title, was in action in December and blew out Polish contender Pawel Glazewski in one round with a vicious body shot.

I've watched this Krasniqi a few times. He's awful. No KO power, and I'm pretty sure his record is decent because he gets a lot of help from the German judges (the worst judges in boxing). I remember watching him against Berry Butler on the Klitschko-Brewster undercard, and it was clear as day that Butler won the fight.
But anyway, the WBA is a the most prestigious belt to have. If he manages to win, he'd be up there with Adonis Stevenson, Kovalev, and Hopkins.
Braehmer will likely kick his ass. I believe this is an optional defense, so he got to choose a weak opponent (Krasniqi).
Kresnik Qato > Robin

I hope not. I watched Kovalev-Pascal yesterday. And they were some deadly shots in that match. If Krasniqi beats Braehmer because Braehmer was unprepared or whatever, Krsaniqi will face guys like Kovalev and can get seriously hurt in the ring. If he can't beat a top notch Braehmer, he has no business fighting at the top.Dragoi wrote:Let's hope Braehmer doesn't take him seriously

Looks like he got his butt kicked. He should stick to European titles, and shouldn't mess with the World titles. The light heavyweight division is really stacked with talent atm.
