You're absolutely right. Here is the most recent example.

LOL. Literally the day after my post. I don't know if he's scared of being called anti-muslim or he's just a fucking dumbass, but Erdogan is literally sponsoring neo-ottoman propaganda and this idiot just lets it happen and even encourages it.

Definitely not a dumbass, just your typical politician who once he gets to power is more interested in preserving his position than actually improving the lives of the people.

For the price of overthrowing Berisha, I thought I could make it to the end of his second term, without his face making me vomit, but it's 3 years in, and that line's already crossed. An agnostic from a Christian family, that'd pimp his own mother for some more Muslim votes.

He can tell that his support is fading, and he wants to f*** over the youth with propaganda to keep his power at any costs.

I don't see a problem with 'mesim besimi'. But not priests and/or imams teaching it. But mesim mbi fetë, but also atheism and agnosticism.

This subject in school school should also contain the historory of religions, philosophy, metaphysics and sociology.

The problem is that I don't trust those teachers to teach math, let alone religious teachings. It's not the state's job to get involved in teaching anything religious related to children. That's something personal and should be kept within the family. A secular, democratic government doesn't get to instill morals about anything to someone else's child. If you want something like that, do it as a university course for adults, not in elementary school. 100% without a doubt, a ton of teachers with personal bias about their own religions will pervert the class.

This is all bullshit games by Rama who started his campaign for 2017 two months ago, and is pandering to every group for votes, to the point of destroying the fabric of the constitution so he can keep making money by giving tenders to his corrupted asshole partners. His "I'm not Berisha" shit will only get him so far.

Teaching a religious studies class does not necessarily mean teaching morals. I had a religion class in high school and we basically learned the history of many of the major religions in the world.

Whether or not there are enough qualified teachers in Albania who are unbiased and won't turn the class into a glorified Sunday school is another issue.

This isn't about an optional religious studies class in high school or university to students who are looking to expand their minds (that's completely fine).

It's about semi-illiterate and biased teachers teaching young, unformed, impressionable children who don't yet have the mental capacity to understand anything metaphysical about talking snakes and virgins in heaven. It's violating the constitution and the power of the state, and will almost certainly result in some form of brainwashing or another.

It seems people are pretty pissed off in social media. I hope there will be protests to end this shit.

I had this kind of education throughout primary school. From kindergarten all up until I finished 9th class. I was very happy with the education I got, and I felt equipped with quite some knowledge whenever I met people who said things about religion and preached more extreme forms.

If there's a problem with the teachers, let's educate new teachers. I really don't see a problem with schools teaching an official version of all religions and a way of thinking from the get-go, so they're armed with knowledge, so they won't leave them as prone to being brainwashed if they meet/see/read more extreme views on religion.

They can't even educate these teachers to teach basic subjects properly (half of Albanian students are not even fully literate), now we're going leave them to teach about religion, the most controversial subject in the world, where it will 100% be perverted to their own biases.

A secular, democratic government doesn't have the power to mandate mandatory religious teachings or teachings about religion of any kind to young, impressionable kids.

This is what religious people want to make the population more religious (pervert the power of govt) because they know religion is dying out rapidly. No atheist wants their children being taught that believing in talking snakes is a normal point of view. If someone who is older wants to take classes on religious history and so on, they have that choice, but anything regarding religion and kids should be left to parents.
