With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!
Albania faces Lithuania after the disappointing draw against Kazakhstan and the 0:1 loss at home against Lithuania.
We’ve faced them 5 times of which we’ve won 2 games and Lithuania 3.
Albania is missing 11 of it’s players. The lineup most likely will be this one:
The lineup is a bit better but having two traditional center forwards is overkill. Vrioni should be replaced by Cekici who can act as a supporting striker.
I would also like to see Cokaj get a start for Laci becusee why not
Looks like the u21 rb Albion Marku was the expected replacement for Hysaj but he got injured and Doka was an emergency callup.
Marku is better than Doka but still way too far away from NT level. One thing I was impressed about him was his stamina. He was constantly bombing up and down which is good but he was losing the ball too much.
Albanians should not take Hysaj for granted. He's a scapegoat for some reason but Albania is blessed to have him. People just don't realize it.
I actually don’t think Doka will be terrible. From what I’ve seen of him he’s not terrible and although he’s not a wingback he provides more width and crossing ability than Veseli. I just don’t get the point of playing with a 22 year old youth player who’s very similar to Manaj (pit bull) as we know we struggle with creativity.

Glad to see Lenjani back in the lineup.
I wouldn’t be so excited.. this isn’t the Lenjani of 5 years ago but an older, washed up version who is now playing in the Swiss challenge league and is obviously not a part of future plans.
Not sure if you guys here are aware or involved, but I saw an Albanian football project in the UK and thought this would be the right place to share it as some of you guys may be able to help them or at the least will subscribe and follow it as you like football. I think their aim is to be the first Albanian professional football club in the UK.
