The Champions Legue as we know is dead, it will become the next Europa League. The fact that FIFA and UEFA might allow those teams to play in domestic leagues they will not lose all. They did the same with Euroleague Basketball, Olimpia Milan plays both domestic and Euroleague games.

Okay Ceferin following through with this threat basically guarantees this isn't going ahead, or the 'European Super League' will lose half the players that made those teams great originally
Alternatively if it does happen maybe we'll lose Manaj which is up for debate whether you think that's an issue, lol

"The final two places will go to the clubs with the highest club coefficient over the last five years that have not qualified for the Champions League group stage but have qualified either for the Champions League qualification phase, the Europa League or the Europa Conference League."
Personally the new UCHL seems fair, without UEFA and domestic leagues blessing i don’t see this Superleague as feasable. There will be plenty of tecnical problems. Who will be refereeing them? Too much issues to make it happen from this august.

I believe it's lose-lose situation if European Super League goes ahead. Probably american owners will not win as much they predicted but they will earn more than enough from TV rights and harm UEFA badly and change football forever . It will be harmful mostly for grassroots football even in western countries butRedFootballs wrote: Mon Apr 19, 2021 4:56 pm Okay Ceferin following through with this threat basically guarantees this isn't going ahead, or the 'European Super League' will lose half the players that made those teams great originally

in corrupted countries as Albania.Kosovo,North Macedonia,Montenegro etc football will die slowly, local football clubs will become irrelevant as other sports clubs. Top european clubs are already filled with mediocre players as Dest,McKennie etc for commercial purposes but in new league the role of football specialists will become total irrelevant, players from Albania &Kosovo should be absolute phenomenal to be part of that league which is very unlikely to happen. It's not that has any importance but it's ironic pundits and ex-players on Europe are in absolute majority against this league but it seems only Albania is exception in this direction , Duka parrots were advocating for the Super League as it was "football salvation".

This league obviously won't happen. It comes up every so often and it gets shot down each time. Plus, with the changes they made to the Champions league giving less spots to smaller clubs and consolidating more representation of bigger clubs there's no point for a Superleague. The current champions league is a superleague lol. We get the same matchups each year.

Nah, they all announced it in their websites.
UEFA/FIFA are just playing hardball. All they have left is EUROs and World Cup. Without those players those competitions are worthless.

Beside european powerful governments, even British Royal family is declared against of this league. If those clubs will be excluded, it means they will no longer have FIFA legal system protections which will be big trouble for them especially for italian and spanish clubs who were constantly involved in shady stuff. I don't believe World Cup will ever become worthless, even if 200 greedy good players will not be part of it. No player ever lived is greater than football so even the likes of Messi or CR7 will play on Super League it won't change much in Europe. Super League might have enough "customers" in asian and american market but i doubt they will ever become most "relevant" league on Europe.Aurora Bulkualis wrote: Mon Apr 19, 2021 8:57 pm Nah, they all announced it in their websites.

Here in UK the government is saying they will put extra windfall tax on any club joining the Super League and revoke work permits for future transfers meaning they will not be able to buy foreign playersZenMaster wrote: Mon Apr 19, 2021 10:06 pmBeside european powerful governments, even British Royal family is declared against of this league.
